Are you looking to better prepare for a different future? May be you believe your potential is unclear? Or you're aiming to work on these areas with your team or department?
Coaching involves a purposeful and collaborative conversation facilitated by a Coach. At Our Shared Wisdom, we offer 1–1 and small group coaching using curious, practical methods. We will work simply and nimbly to enhance your strengths and change capabilities. Whether you need coaching as an individual or with a group of staff, you will be encouraged to form your own momentum to deal with a problem, challenge, or aspiration.
Through coaching, you can clarify your thinking, enable learning and pursue your commitment to action. Our coaching approach first and foremost includes holding a space for you to be listened to, and to hear yourself think. We consider being allowed to speak without interruption to be one of the most liberating and insightful experiences.
Combining gentle curiosity and incisive questions, you will be encouraged to explore your own explanatory frame. We will look at your current situation in your personal or professional life. This way of working is based on our belief that people have the capability within themselves to generate ideas, consider various choices and envision different futures.
Informed by expertise as an Occupational Therapist and narrative researcher, you will be invited to share your stories using narrative coaching methods. We make sense of our lives through the stories or narratives we hear and tell ourselves. Narrative coaching is a powerful tool to help you reframe your perspectives on current and future challenges.
Coaching does not involve giving advice, counselling or directing what you should do. Sometimes, we may agree it would be useful to consider mentoring or a critical friend approach to enhance the progress you are already making.
Secured as your mentor, Dr Rebecca Khanna provides trusted, accessible and confidential advice to senior leaders and programme managers working in higher education, the NHS and Social Care organisations. She is also able to offer expert guidance to allied health professional service managers, university managers, including Directors, Heads of Department, Programme Managers and post-graduate students.
Engaging Rebecca as your mentor will secure your access to a breadth of expertise, networks and wisdom. Especially, insight into work cultures that everyone else seems to manage, yet can't explain. For example, how to enhance your sense of presence and gravitas with colleagues, improve leadership communications with a range of stakeholders or your ability to persuade and inspire others. Mentoring can also simply be about how to finish what you need to get done!
Sometimes, personal-professional life is difficult (on both sides) and there have been some huge challenges - happy to share and inform your success!
Whether you need a coach or mentor, contact Rebecca for a 30-min free exploratory call.
