Our Shared Wisdom: An Introduction

Meet Dr Rebecca Khanna

Before Our Shared Wisdom (Shared Wisdom Ltd.) was founded in 2019, my own work-life narrative reflects over three decades of expertise as an accomplished educationalist and healthcare professions leader. I have also worked at board level as an executive and non-executive director in the NHS and Higher Education.

I’ve implemented significant change including education project rollouts worth eight-figures, led county-wide rehabilitation services to reduce gaps in patient care, and been part of an executive team leading one of the largest and most successful health and life sciences faculties in the UK. I've been recognised for my deep knowledge of educational practices and cross-cultural staff-student partnership working.

My professional background is grounded in being an Occupational Therapist with the lens to appreciate life experiences in an all-round, curious and non-judgemental way. We’re hot-wired to see the big picture of an individual’s circumstances. With deep skills to support individuals to make decisions, regain independence and re-make their own fulfilling life stories.

A key part of what I do now is to use my broad experience of collaborative leadership, and aptitude for user-centric approaches, to support commissioning of innovative educational projects and services. I am most proud of making a difference by brokering interdisciplinary teams to work effectively across organisations; “mediating the art of the possible” is my catchphrase. I believe we are the sum of our parts - the people and our surrounding environment.

I’m passionate about what I can offer as a coach, mentor or critical friend to create safe, energising conditions for change in professional growth leading to positive action.
